Miniature Bucksre tdd text.
We do not recommend bucks as pets.  Better to choose a wether or a doe.

Bucks develop "bucky" behavior which can be offensive to some individuals.  As they mature their odor becomes very strong as they come into rut (the female equivalent of heat).  They start to pee on their front legs and faces and eventually their legs, face and beard will be covered in a sticky layer of urine (irresistible to a doe).

As your buck is half your herd choose wisely.  Look to purchase a quality buck from a registered reputable breeder.  Consider leasing a buck to experience a buck in your herd before you purchase one for yourself.

If you do purchase a buck for breeding then establish your "boss" position with him early.  Treat all bucks, especially when in rut, with respect and caution.  Even the most loving and friendly buckling can become aggressive during rut.
