Miniature Goat Shows are continuing in Victoria and South Australia for 2010.
Run under the Miniature Goat Breeders Association of Australia Inc. (MGBA) rules, shows are open to all miniature goats registered with the MGBA.
Goat owners also must be members of the MGBA to be eligible to compete.
The MGBA has a Social Membership for Miniature Pets so that they can be shown also. There are some beautiful little pets including wethers about.
Show entry fees are usually $2 per class and run in conjunction with an Agricultural Show using qualified miniature goat judges or 'other goat breed' judges who are approved by the MGBA to judge our miniatures.
Goats are judged in accordance with MGBA Miniature Goat breed standards.
All goats up to 12mths of age must not exceed 53.3cm in height.
All goats over 12mths and under 2 years old and adult Does (Does over 3 years of age) must not exceed 57cm in height.
Bucks over 2 years of age must not exceed 60cm.
It is very satisfying to have your goats recognised and is a great day out to spend with other miniature goat enthusiasts.
We are happy to assist anyone wanting to show their miniature goats and encourage anyone to 'have a go'.
